Mark Bouris AM is an Australian entrepreneur and the Executive Chairman of Yellow Brick Road. He founded Wizard Home Loans in 1996, which grew into one of Australia’s largest non-bank mortgage lenders, and Yellow Brick Road in 2007 to give everyday Australians better access to home loans and financial advice. He is also passionate about helping small businesses grow, and founded Mentored in 2007 to connect owners with Australia’s leading business minds.
Mark grew up in Sydney’s south-west and studied at the University of New South Wales. He built his career in finance by taking on the big banks, offering borrowers more choice and a fairer deal. That idea still drives Yellow Brick Road today.
Many Australians also know Mark as the host of The Apprentice Australia and The Celebrity Apprentice Australia on the Nine Network, and of The Mentor on the Seven Network.

Why Mark founded
Yellow Brick Road
After selling Wizard Home Loans, Mark saw that too many Australians were still left to work out their finances on their own. He founded Yellow Brick Road in 2007 to change that, and built a franchise team of local brokers who compare home loans from a panel of more than 50 lenders and help people find the right fit.
Today Yellow Brick Road has brokers across Australia, helping first home buyers, refinancers, investors and self-employed borrowers. Mark remains closely involved as Executive Chairman.

Mentoring
Mark founded Mentored in 2017 to help small business owners learn from Australia’s leading business minds. He hosts Mentored podcast, launched Straight Talk in 2020 and Project 100 in 2025 and appears regularly on TV, radio and other podcasts.

Mark is an Adjunct Professor at UNSW Business School, where he mentors future business leaders. He chaired the Australian Treasury’s Taskforce into the Digitisation of Small Businesses.
