Lesson from my economics teacher, “never borrow more than you can afford to lose”.

Mike Mcinnes

I received one of the most memorable pieces of financial advice when I was 16-years-old in high school.

I had a wonderful teacher that not only taught me economics but life lessons.

She told me: ‘whenever you want to borrow more than what you own, seek professional advice. Never borrow more than you can afford to lose’.

Well, today I’m the branch principal at Yellow brick Road Ipswich, based in the growing western suburbs of Brisbane, and I still haven’t forgotten that advice.

It’s something I’ve found helpful in my personal life and have also passed it on to my clients.
